It was a great night at the Bourbon Theatre with a packed line up consisting of What Lies Below, Royale Lynn, From Ashes to New and the headliner Asking Alexandria. Such a great night with all these powerhouse bands. Asking Alexandria was the perfect end to the evening. They had the Bourbon Theatre up and moving from the start and literally had the floor shaking. It was loud and raucous, definitely my type of show. They even got the crowd rowdy enough to start crowd surfing during the set.
This was my second rodeo with Asking Alexandria, the first time was a couple years ago, but what I remembered was that lead vocalist Danny Worsnop likes to keep the hoody up and face largely concealed. I don’t mind, I get the mood that it sets and it actually adds a mysterious vibe to the show. AS a photographer, it does make it a challenge, I like to try and capture those moments where his face is visible. If you look the photos, I think I did an alright job. The light show was exceptional, that also helped photo wise, but these guys really know how to put on a show. All energy all the time.
Asking Alexandria is a veteran band that has an extensive song list to choose from. They opened with a song from the 2017, Eve. And the promptly jumped into Alone Again and then Bad Blood. There was no slowing down throughout the set, and it ended with two encores Don’t Pray For Me and Alone in a Room. They sounded amazing throughout. Something that you expect from a band of their stature. It’s safe to say that all the Asking Alexandria fans went home happy and that there were a few new ones created that night. If you haven’t seen them live, you definitely should. They are worth the effort to go see!
